About
Learn more about The Content Works – our mission is simple: to create content that works.
Our story
The Content Works was founded in 2012 by Des Paul following a notable career in radio and television. Over the years we’ve grown from a small office in Wimbledon to becoming one of the leading video and podcast production companies in the UK. Our mission is simply to create high-quality content that works.
Over the years we have worked all over the world and produced all sorts of video and audio content, including commercials, brand films and chart-topping podcasts. Highlights along the way include the ‘Nissan Wingsuits’ project which became the most-viewed video content they’d ever made, ‘In on Goal’, an online video series for Yahoo Sport, and ‘Pride Not Prejudice’, an ARIA-nominated radio documentary. We have also been fortunate to receive recognition for our work with multiple industry awards and nominations.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: to create content that works.
One of the reasons we can do this is because we have unrivalled experience of delivering content to millions of people every day through our work in radio and television. We’ve been in front of and behind the camera and the microphone, so have a deep understanding of how content creation works.
We use this insight in everything we do, always placing the audience at the heart of the creative process. Whether that audience is a small niche within a corporate environment or millions of people downloading a podcast, they are the focus of our production.
Our work
We produce high-quality content for brands and businesses including video, podcasts, animations and livestreams.
Our clients are diverse, ranging from professional sports rights holders such as the EFL, through to globally recognised consumer brands such as Bupa. We work with large and small businesses and many of our clients have been with us for several years.
We tailor our approach to each production, making sure we know exactly what’s needed to deliver on time and importantly, on budget.
Our team
The Content Works is a team effort. We are a collective of incredibly experienced content production professionals. Our Executive Producer is Des Paul, and he is joined by Senior Producer Dave Vitty, best known for being part of the longest running breakfast show at BBC Radio 1. Emily and Farrukh keep things running smoothly in the office and alongside them are some of the best people in the business, including directors, directors of photography, editors and animators.
We’re committed to improving diversity in the media industry, and Des serves as a mentor for Media for All, an organisation dedicated to creating more opportunities in this sector.
Our process
Producing content can be complex, but we aim to make the process as clear and simple as possible for all our clients. This includes understanding who the intended audience is, what you want the impact to be and how best to deliver content that will work. Pricing is clearly an important factor, and we keep our costs competitive and in line with the wider industry,
Although every project varies in scale, we apply the same high standards to each one to ensure we get the best out of the budget and the brief. All quotations are itemised to ensure value for money, and we keep our processes transparent so there are no surprises for the client.
Our experience is invaluable here because it means we can address any concerns before production starts and know precisely what needs to be in place to deliver successful content.
