Internal corporate podcasts evolved hugely within the space of just a few years. From a few experiments to see how it would work, to a core part of how businesses engage with their employees. In 2025, as well as more companies adopting this method of communicating, we’re also seeing refinements in the frequency, production and formats. Read on!

Changing Frequencies and Styles

Shorter, more frequent episodes are on the rise, with many companies opting for quick, five-to-ten-minute updates. While in-depth discussions still have their place, especially for leadership updates, there’s a rising demand for bite-sized content.

Live Q&A sessions are also becoming more common, where employees can submit questions in advance or join real-time conversations with leadership.

Video on the Rise

Video is increasingly playing a key role in corporate podcasting, offering leadership a more direct way to connect with employees. Unlike audio alone, video brings in body language and facial expressions, which significantly boost engagement. As a result, employees are likely to connect with the content on a deeper level, making it more impactful and engaging.

However, the shift to video brings its own set of challenges. Coordinating schedules to get people together for professional-quality recordings is no small feat, particularly for global teams working across different time zones. Additionally, many companies find themselves relying on “Zoom-style” recordings, which often fall short in terms of production value and engagement.

One approach to overcome this, is sending equipment directly to employees’ work spaces, including high-quality cameras, microphones, and even greenscreens to ensure a more professional-looking production.
