EFL LGBTQ+ Forum

EFL LGBTQ+ Fans' Forum

The LGBTQ+ Fans' Forum was a virtual event which we produced for the EFL as part of the 'Rainbow Laces' campaign. It was broadcast live from our studios in London to an invited audience of fans and representatives from the football league, via our secure virtual event platform. The show format consisted of a number of panels with studio and remote guests discussing various topics around diversity and inclusion in football. We also had live comments and questions fed into the programme from viewers at home.

The brief

We work with the EFL on a number of projects including their official podcast and annual awards, and they came to us with a brief of creating a virtual event in place of a physical event for their first ever LGBTQ+ Fans' Forum. They wanted to create an event that could be livestreamed to an invite-only audience, had high production values, felt engaging and was achievable within a set budget. We worked with the EFL team on the lineup and running order before putting together the live show schedule and production. On the night, the feedback was beyond our expectations, with a huge amount of viewer interaction via the Q&A and comments functionality, which suggested high levels of engagement.
